Avon Dam
Gravity dam, curved in plan to radius of 1200 ft, with developed length of 870 ft, consists of mass concrete hearting with precast concrete blockwork facing upstream and downstream; local granite aggregate is used in block-work; central spillway is 120 ft long with crest at 1121.5 OD; designed to pass flood of 7000 cusecs; surface area of reservoir will be 50 acres and volume impounded 305 million gal.
