Steel sheet piling, whose butt ends were severely split and twisted in driving, created difficult removal problem; part of piling in cofferdam at Chicago filtration plant was pulled with 50-ton-capacity floating derrick; piling, tightly embedded, required as much as 150-ton pull, provided by A-frame rigged on one end of barge.
