Large triaxial testing machine built by bureau of reclamation
New fields of research into strength of concrete and rock under load conditions produced at large dams are opened by triaxial testing machine built for Denver laboratory of U S Bur of Reclamation; machine can test specimens up to 6 × 12-in. cylinders under axial and lateral loading of 125,000 psi; under these extreme conditions testing machine carried internal load of 110 million lb.
