Water-hammer wave velocity in concrete tunnels
Expression for velocity of water hammer waves in concrete-lined tunnel is presented; effect of modulus of elasticity of concrete and rock, Poisson's ratio of concrete and for rock, and slenderness of tunnel lining on wave velocity is discussed and chart is developed for determination of approximate wave velocity when tunnel dimensions and moduli of elasticity of rock and concrete are known.
