Dewatering Toronto subway
Two-stage wellpoints were used for dewatering difficult section of new East-West subway in Toronto, that is 40 ft below street level and main tunnel is 10 ft below groundwater line; in dewatering system after excavating first 20 ft and after transverse struts were in place, second stage wellpoints were installed to complete excavation.
