Test methods used to evaluate frost resistance of aggregates in air-entrained concrete; 170 threelane miles of pavement were subjected to 1 or 2 winters of severe exposure; specifications based on test procedure are used for acceptance of aggregates in construction work, many of which would not be considered to be acceptable when using conventional freeze-thaw methods.
