Novel joint simplifies sewer construction
Construction of quadruple concrete box underwater sewer outfall near Copenhagen, Denmark, by use of novel hinged joint which permitted quick assembly of precast units, 50 ft in length, rectangular in cross-section (10.17 × 3.58 ft); joint packing of wood fiber rope was compressed in place by hinge action secured in laying units.
