Lignin binder used in test sections subjected to accelerated traffic
Report of investigation in which crusher-run limestone, granite, slag, and gravel were mixed with binder soil and tested in outdoor circular track; application of lignin binder at rate of 1/2 gal per sq yd retarded raveling as compared with tests on untreated sections; all sections wave good performance when tested under normal conditions of moisture as base courses for thin bituminous surfaces.
