Studies of sulfate resistance of Portland cements
Results of study on 1:5 standard sand mortar specimens immersed in sodium sulphate solution; relative resistance determined by length change measurements and by time required to cause disintegration; tricalcium aluminate content of cement was better correlated with resistance of 1:5 mortar than it was with resistance of concretes tested by MILLER and MANSON (see article published in Am Soc Testing Matls -- Proc v 40 1940).
