Seepage from lined and sealed irrigation canals
Losses due to infiltration from lined and sealed irrigation canals into soil are dealt with and data obtained in laboratory studies on infiltration are presented; it is shown that owing to various losses, volume of irrigation water to be diverted is always larger than demand and that seepage losses from lined and sealed irrigation canals are not constant, and in fact show increasing trend; magnitude of loss through various discontinuities in lining or seal in case of defects was studied. English summary.
