Economic problem of irrigation canals -- Seepage losses
Method for simplifying calculations, aiming at economic solution of canal lining problem without lessening precision of results is presented; problem is defined in terms of functions having as independent variable canal water depth, by means of which all factors are coordinated and connected; method is applied to case of canal conveying constant flow along line, and to case in which discharge of canal varies along line itself; numerical example is given to demonstrate application of method to practical problems encountered in design.
