Study of methods for determining optimum asphalt content in asphalt pavements resulted in method that makes it possible to determine by calculation amount of asphalt cement being bound per each fraction; regularity of distribution of binder in accordance with formula is indicated and validity of formula presented for range of fines; formula is set up based on assumption of hyperbolic correlation between amounts of asphalt cement bound per each fraction, and on mean grain diameter and specific gravity; formula is deduced allowing one to determine by tests with filler containing quartz-porphyry mixes amount of asphalt cement being bound by filler.
