Jersey meadows high-level viaduct
Structure, 3 1/2 mi long, forms part of highway from Holland Tunnel to Elizabeth, NJ; six concrete land and two river piers erected on pneumatic caisson foundations sunk 54 to 126 ft below ground surface; viaduct is of cantilever construction and contains 88,461 tons of steel; fabrication of members necessitated driving of more than 2,000,000 rivets.
