Completion of split-level intersection at Petit-Clamart cross-roads
Highway R.N. 186 bypassing Paris includes number of split-level intersections, study of which gives picture of evolution of ideas in this field; final layout of intersection examined is example of second generation intersection; work required construction of six overpasses and considerable amount of earthwork, access roadways, sanitation work, and lighting facilities; work had to be carried out with particular care on account of special onsite conditions; extensive geotechnical survey and use of critical path method were necessary.
