Planning and construction of Belleville Locks on Ohio River are discussed; two locks measure 600 and 1200 ft in length respectively, 110 ft in width, 65 ft in height above bed rock; major problems included construction of foundation work before spring flood of 1964 and close scheduling of delivery of materials, most of which came by barge from as far as 300 mi; forming and concreting of lock are described.
