Floodlighting storage yard promotes safety and efficiency
Storage yards of New York City's new Independent Subway System have been thoroughly floodlighted; total area of yard is 49 acres, of which 21%, or 459,000 sq ft, is covered by shop buildings; total of 28,000 w of floodlighting installed, consisting of 28 1000-w projectors mounted on four 75-ft structural-steel towers and on two of yard buildings.
