L.N.E.R. -- Romford widening
Reconstruction of station was important part of widening; as now completed it consists of four platforms 600 ft in length; for first 3/4 mi, widening is on embankment and necessitated construction of heavy retaining walls throughout that length; walls built of concrete with blue brindled brick facing and provided with expansion joints at every 100 ft.
