Dock construction in precast concrete
Method of construction for lower sections of berthing structure to be constructed within dock continuously in use, with minimum of disturbance to existing dock facilities; it was found that method of precast construction was economical and enabled quay extension to be built rapidly, independently of dock water level; construction of precast units was commended at same time as pile driving and cast in situ work was confined to simple slab supported on precast units and piles reducing construction time.
