Extension of stage-discharge curve for river necessitated backwater computations and development of suitable correlations because of varying friction slope; monthly rainfall-runoff relations from limited data have been used for transforming rainfall data and for preparing 60 yr water budget to determine useful reservoir yield probable variation; optimum baseflow for use with unit hydrograph and design storms was estimated from association between flood-producing storm and antecedent baseflow; use of regional flood potential study for checking design floods derived from design storms and unit hydrograph; auxiliary spillway at safe distance from main dam reduces reservoir surcharge for rare floods.
