Deformation measurements of Flaming Gorge dam
Measured data indicate that plumb line and triangulation systems are reliable for measuring deformation of concrete dams; agreement between measured radial deformations and trial load deformations indicates ratio of assumed average rock modulus was correct; tangential movements indicate that deformation modulus of left abutment is greater than that of right abutment; data for seasonal temperature change between Oct 9 1963 and Mar 26 1964; seasonal temperature changes influence deflection of Flaming Gorge Dam about same magnitude as change in reservoir water surface elevation. (see also ASCE -- Proc (J Surveying and Mapping Div) Jan 1968 paper 5731 p 37-48)
