Bond resistance between steel and lightweight-aggregate (Lytag) concrete
Pull-out and bond beam test results on bond resistance between light weight-aggregate (Lytag) concrete and steel are reported; it is shown that except at later stages of loading, square twisted bars show better resistance to slip than either mild steel or Tentor bars; average bond stresses obtained from bond beam tests show that bond resistance between Lytag concrete and mild steel reinforcement is lower compared with gravel concrete of equivalent concrete crushing strength.
