Time-dependent load transfer in reinforced lightweight concrete columns
Time-dependent strains of axially loaded, structural size, reinforced light weight concrete column were observed for one year to verify theoretical method of predicting load transfer from concrete to reinforcing steel caused by creep and shrinkage; method, which modifies "classical" equations by considering interaction between creep and shrinkage, was verified within engineering tolerances; it provides adequate means of predicting long term column deformations and load transfer using creep and shrinkage data from plain concrete cylinders.
