Methodology-tidal computations for sea-level canal
Preference is indicated for evaluations by procedures of G. P. Pillsbury approach, form of harmonic analysis, of characteristics, or of implicit analysis; essential elements in analyses of methods; V.W. Ekman model results on dead water are examined to indicate probable extent of increase in resistance of ships moving in stratified liquid medium; reduction in strength of currents in canal when estuary entrance is provided at Pacific end of canal is considered in simple analysis.
