Concept of twin cantilevers in analysis of shear-walled multi-storey buildings
Paper presents general method of analyzing tall buildings based on concept of "twin cantilevers"; "substitute cantilever" due to Kloucek and flexural cantilever joined together by imaginary bars at floor levels form skeleton of this twin cantilever; given problem is at once transformed into one set of linear simultaneous equations; computer program based on this concept is prepared to give answer to such problems; three numerical examples are solved and results compared with those obtained using methods of earlier investigators.
