Relationship between bending strength of reinforced concrete beams and concrete cube strength
Description of elementary theoretical study of effect of variation in concrete cube strength on bending strength of reinforced concrete beam of given dimensions; three methods of analysis are considered -- elastic theory with constant modular ratio, elastic theory with variable modular ratio and load factor method; study confirms that strength of majority of reinforced concrete beams is independent of cube strength, provided that this is above particular minimum value which is affected appreciably by design details.
