Analysis of prestressed cylindrical shell roofs
Prestressing force in circular cylindrical shell roofs prestressed by tendons placed in edge beams is represented by Fourier series, and several terms of series are taken into account; Schorer approximation is used for solution of edge disturbance problem; solution is facilitated by operation tables referring to single shell and inner shell in multiple shell structure; 2 numerical examples are given; extremal values of normal stresses and transverse bending moments do not occur at midspan, but are rather displaced in direction of end section.
