Buckling of stepped columns with rotated ends
Approximate solution to problem of determining critical buckling loads for long columns with abrupt changes in inertia properties at ends that are pinned and axes of pins are not parallel; solution is obtained by using theorem of minimum potential energy; numerical solutions compare favorably with exact solutions for cases in which ratio of moments of inertia of center section to end sections is greater than 0.2.
