Replacement of the Folkestone harbour swing bridge
Old timber swing bridge carrying Southern Railway across inner harbour at Folkestone, was demolished and replaced by steel bridge, erected on staging parallel to timber bridge during previous six weeks; distance between abutments is 132 ft., and bridge is supported on center pier 32 ft. sq., leaving two openings, each 50 ft. wide, for passage of vessels; oa. length is 135 ft.
