Surface water resources of Calhoun County, Alabama
Annual rainfall averages about 52 in. and annual runoff about 19 in.; most of streams investigated are susceptible of useful development for water supply; with suitable storage facilities, some of them could be expected to furnish as much as 1 cfs/sq mi of watershed; low flow of streams is closely related to geology of their drainage basins; water in some streams is moderately hard to hard during periods of low and median flow; silica and bicarbonate content may be objectionable for certain industries.
