Geotechnical problems associated with construction of subway from Jernbanetorvet to Toyen
Different methods used in construction of subway through central part of Oslo where tunnel crossed through heavy deposits of soft clay to stabilize deep excavations; main method consisted of excavating in compressed air beneath loaded tunnel roof and between sheet pile walls; number of measurements were taken of earth pressures on strutted sheet piles, strut loads, pore pressures in clay, deformations and settlements.
