Equilibrium of inelastic one-degree-of-freedom strut with bilinear stress-strain relationship in deformable elements, subjected to compressive force, constant with respect to time, is investigated; motion is found to be limited and equilibrium to be stable if load is smaller than Karman load, irrespective of original equilibrium position; deformation time diagrams.
