Multiple folded plate structures
Computer program is developed for analyzing folded plate structures with more than two plates meeting at joint known as "multiple " folded plate structures; method of analysis is based on stiffness method developed by DeFries-Skene and Scordelis; derivation of stiffness coefficients which are omitted by previous authors are included; unlike method of DeFries-Skene and Scordelis, joint loads are obtained from fixed-end slab forces; computer program solves directly final slab forces and plate forces; application of program is shown by three examples; investigation shows that plate forces solved can be quite accurate but slab forces obtained can only be as accurate as load approximation.
