Structural subassemblages prevented from sway
Method for analyzing nonsway beam-and-column subassemblages, which are parts of braced multistory frame, is presented; type of subassemblage studied consists essentially of column framed at its ends to beams of known properties; when subjected to load, beams will deform with column and provide restraint at ends of column; method can be used to study elastic and inelastic behavior of subassemblages provided material properties are known; application of method to analysis of beam-columns continuous over several supports is illustrated.
