Description of improved methods applied on six recent subway projects in New York City; fabricated continuous steel girders supported on towers, deck girders supported on low-level transverse girders, girders carried on shores with concrete footings below grade, roadway supported on H-beam steel piles driven to rock, deck carried on seven tiers of 12 by 12-in. wooden beams, trusses used to both support deck and brace trench walls.
