Investigations concerning deep cofferdam in Thames Estuary Clay at Shellhaven
During construction of cofferdam, opportunity was taken of measuring loads transmitted from sheet piling walls to walings, and loads in struts; investigation also made of soil properties by means of in situ vane tests and by laboratory tests; earth pressures calculated and interpretation given of load observations in light of calculated pressures.
