Formulas and calculations given for design of highway bridge where terrain necessitates structure 3 or 4 times length of actual crossing: table gives data on moment of inertia for 3-span continuous beam; values from table are sufficient to construct moment envelope from which correct disposition of reinforcement in bending is obtained.
