A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Laboratory investigation of inertia forces exerted by water waves on circular cylindrical pile was conducted; both regular and irregular waves generated in wave tank showed that Morison's coefficients of mass are close to theoretical value of 2.0 given by Lamb, while drag component of total force acting on pile is negligible for range of conditions tested.
