Mount-Cenis hydroelectric power development; civil engineering of penstock
Penstock feeding 400 Mva plant has total length of 3540 m, total head of 882 m, inlet diameter of 3.5 m, outlet diameter of 3.0 m; it will discharge 53 cu m due to presence of corrosive anhydrite rock and sulfureous underground water, steel pipe freely supported every 8.25 m on metal cradles was adapted in lieu of embedded pipe; description of heading work, hydraulic removal of excavated material, devices for handling construction material and personnel, gallery lining work, construction of internal concrete stairs and platforms.
