Report deals with head race gallery, head and tailrace tunnel of Curbans Project on Durance, immediately downstream from Serre-Poncon dam; underground plant includes pressure tunnel having finished section of 66.4 sq m, 9 km in length, cross section of which has continuous variable curvature; head works which, in addition to machine room, 80 m in length, include in particular surge tank 18 m in diam and 54 m in depth from which three penstocks 5 m in diam lead out, energy-dissipating shaft for 75 cu m/sec under 82 m of head and chamber connecting to tailrace tunnel, having span of 25 m; 1800 m free-flow tailrace tunnel having finished section of 90 sq m.
