Settlement of clay stratum of finite thickness under cylindrically symmetric loading
It is assumed that clay aquifer is statically loaded at its horizontal permeable surface at time t = 0 by pressure field q(r,t); three-dimensional calculation of settlement is compared with theory of Terzaghi; influence of finite stratum thickness is shown graphically as compared with half-space theory; settlement under annular shape foundation is also treated.
