Fire behavior and protection in hyperbaric chambers
Water spray system with manually actuated, outside, quick-opening valve is required for fire safety in hyperbaric chambers where rapid evacuation is impossible; resistance of denser than normal atmosphere to falling water droplets, required additional sprinklers to protect chamber under operating conditions; fire tests on representative combustibles showed increase in burning rate of 1/3 when pressure increased from 15 to 30 lb.
