Metal replaces concrete structures in Scotland
Various methods of repair and costs of repair of concrete substation structures are considered; costs of concrete, aluminum-alloy lattice, steel and aluminum alloy for substation structures are compared; replacement of concrete by aluminum-alloy lattice structures because of small cost differential; aluminum alloy offers such advantages as ease and speed of erecting lattice structure, interchangeability of parts and ability to dismantle at will and erect elsewhere.
