Ultimate load balanced design of prestressed concrete
Aspects of ultimate load design of post-tensioned concrete are discussed, and performance design criteria is emphasized; it is shown that these factors can be combined so that ultimate load and slab or beam deflection criteria can also be satisfied; particular data refers to flat slab design; discussion is in three parts -- general design, load balanced design, and fire ratings and shear design; behavior of post-tensioned concrete as ultimate load is approached; ultimate load design for fire ratings, flexure in slab-column junctions for reverse bending effects and shear problems; methods of design are discussed; cable friction problems are directly related to load balance design and calculation methods are proposed.
