Cast-in-place concrete residences with insulated walls
Procedures were developed for including layer of insulation in mid-thickness of cast-in-place concrete wall for improving thermal properties; means of anchoring insulation and properly discharging concrete into wall forms are described; insulated and solid concrete panels were tested in compression, and load-deformation curves are presented; high slump concrete for workability was obtained without adversely affecting shrinkage of concrete by entraining large volume of air rather than providing additional water; insulated wall was tested in connection with residential construction, but its advantages may extend to buildings of other types.
