Curing of concrete at various depths from exposed surface
Range of mixes in experimental comparison of hydration of concrete included three water-cement ratios of 0.45, 0.65 and 0.85 and cementitious material comprised of pure portland cement and mixture of that portland cement and blast furnace slag in equal proportions; mixes were made with both 100/0 and 50/50 cements; only aggregate used was rock flour milled to cement fineness and this was introduced only in quantities sufficient to eliminate visible bleeding; preparation of specimens, exposure to drying and determination of hydration factor are discussed; results are summarized in tables and shown graphically.
