A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The design of floating docks. Public works of the navy. Under the cognizance of the bureau of yards and docks and the corps of civil engineers
Maximum moments are calculated for bulkhead, cross-girders, and side walls. Structure considered consists of single side walls connected by girders which arc in turn connected by continuous main bulkhead. Translation of two articles, one published in Zeitschrift fur Bauwesen in 1892, and another in Schiffbau of May 8, 1912, latter being amplification and generalization of method outlined in former article.
