Compression tests were made on about 3500 6 × 12 in. concrete cylinders. Relation between modulus of elasticity and strength of concrete was studied for following variables: Size and grading of aggregate, kind of aggregate, quantity of cement, consistency of concrete, age at test, time of mixing, and curing conditions of concrete. It is said that tests showed that modulus of elasticity is affected by these variables in same manner as strength. Tests are reported which show that gage lengths over which deformations are measured do not appreciably affect determination of modulus of elasticity. From Proc. Am. Soc. for Testing Materials.
