Cut-and-Cover conduits divert Niagara water
Construction of conduits through city of Niagara Falls, NY, to provide water for power generating facilities from upper Niagara River; 21,000 ft long conduits are twin horseshoe-shaped concrete tubes 46 ft wide and 66 ft high, were constructed in excavated trenches; after completion, they will be backfilled with earth and hidden from sight, excavation of five 30 ft lifts.
