Analytical formulas forecasting subsidence areas are derived from theory of strength of materials, elasto-mechanics, plasto-mechanics or from theory of mechanics of loose media; mathematical models of stresses and deformation characteristics of rock are very approximate because of heterogeneity and tectonics of rock masses as well as of their changeable rheological properties.
