Fire hazard of fibrous glass ducts -- Evaluation
Fibrous glass ducts which contain small quantity of combustible resins have low combustibility and add no appreciable fire hazard to buildings; their heat release rate is same or lower than mineral acoustical tile, protected metal, and gypsum board; fire spread through ducts to other areas should not occur in automatic-sprinklered buildings and possibility is remote in unsprinklered buildings, particularly in ducts with fire dampers.
